In May 2024, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved 24 new projects and one production expansion project with a total investment of more than $246 million, creating about 15,000 jobs.
According to a press release issued by the CDC on June 10, of the 25 investment projects, 17 are located outside the SEZ and 8 are located within the SEZ.
The approved projects span various sectors, including manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, and special economic zones.
“In May, investment from China tops the list, accounting for almost 50 percent of the total investment capital, while 30 percent other is from domestic sources,” the CDC stated in the report.
