The Interministerial Committee for Strategic Investments is expected to green-light three investments with a total budget of 1 billion euros in the tourism sector on Monday, when it is scheduled to convene.
They concern developments at Petalioi, Astakos and in the Peloponnese. Their approval by the Interministerial Committee will mark the start of the licensing process following a review of the relevant plan by the Council of State. This is a licensing model with the preparation of a Special Zoning Development Plan for Strategic Investments. Although each of them are at a different degree of maturity, it is estimated that they are all projects that will be implemented relatively quickly.
The first one is a €475 million investment launched at Vlacheika in the eastern Peloponnese, opposite teh island of Hydra, in an area of 1.75 square kilometers, by Hydra Rock, owned by Ioannis V. Vardinoyannis. The project concerns the development of a luxury tourism accommodation and residential complex on a coastal area, with strict sustainability certification standards.
The second project that is expected to receive the green light from the Interministerial Committee is that of Grivalia Hospitality, to be developed in the southern part of Megalonisos, part of the Petalioi island complex, between Attica and Evia. This has a budget of €235 million and concerns an area of 550,000 square meters. It includes a luxury hotel, 75 villas and 20 branded residences, as well as gyms, restaurants and a beach club.
The third project that will be on the agenda is an investment of around €250 million. It is to be developed on an area of approximately 1.800 sq.km in Aitoloakarnania, which also includes Astakos port. The plan envisages the creation of a large marina for megayachts, the development of luxury residences, a five-star hotel, stores and restaurants.
Also on the agenda of Monday’s interministerial meeting is the expansion of the Elounda Hills strategic plan, by Mirum Hellas in Elounda, with minor modifications to the concession zone of the coastal area.
