A tyre manufacturer, Double Star, purchases between 50,000 and 60,000 tonnes of local rubber annually to supply its tyre production chain at its factory in Cambodia’s Kratie province.
Double Star’s management reported this information during a recent visit by over 50 journalists.
The journalists, representing more than 20 institutions and led by Puy Kea, President of the Club of Cambodian Journalists, toured the tyre production factory in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Snoul district, Kratie province.
Double Star is a prominent tyre manufacturer in China, investing $200 million to establish its tyre production factory in the northeastern province.
The factory provides over 1,700 jobs for residents and produces tyres for export to the United States of America, the European Union, and other countries. AKP
