Koh Kong hosts coastal festival to attract more tourists

Koh Kong has hosted a coastal festival to showcase its tourism potential and attract more investors to the coastal province.

Koh Kong Deputy Provincial Governor Orn Sothearith emphasised the objective when addressing the opening of the event on Saturday.

He urged a collaborative effort from all stakeholders, particularly the public and private sectors, to continue promoting the richness of the provincial tourism as its main road infrastructure nears completion.

The two-day second Coastal Festival was organised by the Dara Sakor Resort, a project under the Coastal City Development Group, or CoastalCity.

CoastalCity CEO Li Mengchen was quite optimistic that the Coastal Festival will help to accelerate tourism in Koh Kong, thereby inviting more investors and facilitating growth in the local economy.

According to the Director of Public Relations of the Department of CoastalCity, Chea Tech Hok, in addition to the Dara Sakor Resort, his company also invests in other projects, including the Dara Sakor International Airport and a deep-sea port development to enhance the province’s potential, particularly in tourism.

In 2024, Cambodia’s tourism generated $3.66 billion in revenue, reflecting an 18 percent increase compared to 2023, with the country targeting 7.5 million foreign tourists by 2025. AKP
