Kampot city authorities have recently conducted a test run of the city’s latest tourist attraction – fountains dancing to the rhythm of music accompanied by colorful lights.
After the installation and the addition of music, the authorities believe that Kampot province will change its face to another level and that visitors will come twice as much.
Kampot City Governor Leang Roeun Sothy said that on the evening of March 12, 2025, the technical team installing the fountain garden – situated in Prek Kampong Bay in front of the provincial hall – tested some of the water nozzles and lights to see how they work.
And through testing, the technical team confirmed that some of the water nozzles still did not move well, some were still clogged with water, and some were not working properly.
He said that according to the instructions of His Excellency the Provincial Governor, this attractive fountain garden will be prepared and adjusted by the end of March.
The mayor added that, as a test, the fountain park has attracted a lot of attention from residents of Kampot City as well as social media users, with comments expressing excitement and pride that their province has achieved unprecedented tourism achievements, which is the handiwork of the government through His Excellency Mao Thunin, Governor of Kampot Province.
The mayor expressed confidence that the fountain park dancing to the rhythm of music accompanied by colorful lights, after installation and adjustment, will be able to attract twice as many tourists to Kampot province and that Kampot province will change its face to a greater extent.
