Israeli-owned Osopil Ltd has submitted environmental impact assessment plans for a major medical and hospital complex called “Hadassah Healthcare Park” in Lakatamia, with public consultations scheduled until April 12, 2025.

The proposed development, with an estimated investment exceeding €150 million, will include a five-storey private hospital, a medical university, biotechnology offices, and student dormitories, establishing what would become one of the largest healthcare facilities on the island.

The development plans outline a mixed-use complex comprising:

  • The largest private hospital in Cyprus (HC Hospital Ltd) with 156 inpatient beds, 2,265 square metres of outpatient clinics, radiology wing, nuclear medicine facilities, oncology treatment unit, emergency department, and operating theatres
  • A rehabilitation centre (HC Rehabilitation Ltd) offering modern treatment methods for post-operative patients, accident victims, chronic disease sufferers, and substance rehabilitation
  • An assisted living centre (HC Assisted Living Ltd)
  • A medical university institution with capacity for 900 students, including lecture halls, laboratories, and offices
  • Biotechnology offices across five floors
  • Student dormitories with 232 rooms, including meal preparation areas and commercial spaces

Beyond healthcare services, the university and biotechnology offices are expected to contribute to medical education advancement and economic development in the region.

The site is located approximately 440 metres southeast of the THOΙ Lakatamia stadium, 650 metres southeast of Manglis Lake, and 520 metres east of the Pedieos River linear park.

The Environmental Department is accepting public comments on the environmental impact assessment until the April deadline, with construction timelines dependent on regulatory approvals.
