Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, held talks with Tull Traisorat, Thailand’s Ambassador to Cambodia, on Wednesday over boosting trade and economic ties between the two nations.
They also discussed boosting Thai investments in the Kingdom alongside further enhancing cooperation encompassing various spheres of economic activities between both countries.
Marking the official beginning of his diplomatic mission last month, Tull Traisorat has expressed his commitment to further elevate the Cambodia-Thai relations to the next level.
Before taking up the role in the Kingdom, Tull Traisorat served a tenure as his country’s Ambassador to the Philippines.
In 2024, Thailand and Cambodia’s trade volume reached an impressive $10 billion, with Thailand’s exports to Cambodia reaching $9.23 billion, according to data from the United Nations Comtrade database.
Cambodia’s trade with Asean countries, including Thailand, rose to $15.69 billion in 2024, accounting for 28.3 percent of Cambodia’s total trade volume.
Major imports from Thailand to Cambodia include construction materials, electrical equipment, agricultural machinery, food, spices, beverages, and fruits.
Cambodia mainly exports mangoes, cassava, corn, pepper, and beans to Thailand.
