Saudi Parliament Head Visits Cambodia

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia is to welcome a Saudi Arabian delegation, led by Parliament Speaker Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, from June 30 to July 4.

Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly, will first hold a meeting with the delegation, aiming to strengthen and deepen cooperation between the two parliaments in bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

On the sidelines, Al-Sheikh is also set to meet Senate President Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet for work discussions.

Both countries have had active years with high-level delegation exchanges through two-way official visits. In December of last year, Hun Sen paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia.

Both further fostered cooperation in people-to-people connectivity, tourism, sports, trade and investments.

The meeting also led to a consideration of scholarships for Cambodian students to study in Saudi Arabia and the establishment of an embassy. This was said to be happening soon but no date was announced.
