The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Cypriot citizens to avoid travel to the border areas of Thailand and Cambodia, due to the ongoing armed conflicts on the borders of the two countries. The recommendation concerns those who intend to travel to the region, while special caution is also requested from those who are already there.
Citizens are invited to closely monitor developments through international and local media and to follow the official instructions of the authorities. The Ministry provides contact details for the competent consular authorities of the Republic of Cyprus in Cambodia, Thailand and China, as well as the competent services in Cyprus.
In cases of emergency, citizens can contact the Embassy of Cyprus in China, the Honorary Consulate in Phnom Penh, the High Commission in New Delhi, as well as the Honorary Consulate in Bangkok. Telephone and email contact numbers for the Consular Affairs and Crisis Management Directorates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cyprus are also provided.
The Ministry invites citizens to register, if they wish, on the Connect2CY online platform, for better information and support in the event of a crisis during their stay abroad.
