Tourism revenue reached a historic record of €581.8 million in August 2025, pushing the January-August 2025 period to a record level of €2.47 billion.
According to results from the Traveller Survey, published Thursday by the Statistical Service, tourism revenue in August 2025 reached €581.8 million, showing a 13.8% increase compared to the corresponding month of 2024 (€511.4 million).
For the January-August 2025 period, tourism revenue is calculated at €2,472.9 million compared to €2,121.8 million for the same period in 2024, marking a 16.5% increase.
It is noted that this August tourist arrivals rose to 602,026, compared to 554,923 last August.
Brits led the pack
The per capita expenditure of tourists in August 2025 amounts to €966.41 compared to €921.59 in August 2024, marking an increase of 4.9%.
British tourists (the largest tourism market with 32.1% of all tourists in August 2025) spent an average of €112.74 daily, while Israeli tourists (the second largest tourism market during that month with 17.5% of the total) spent an average of €152.44.
Tourists from Poland (third largest market with 7.0%) spent €96.15 daily.
