The Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) in collaboration with ASEAN Business Advisory Council Cambodia supported by the Cambodian Government
will host the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit in April in Phnom Penh.
The two-day summit will be held from April 1-2 at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra in Phnom Penh, bringing economic players from ASEAN with experts to promote trade and connectivity in the region, said its vice-president Lim Heng.
The summit will be opened with a keynote address from Prime Minister Hun Manet and Kith Meng, President of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chair of ASEAN Business Advisory Council-Cambodia with participation of directors, entrepreneurs, investors and experts from all sectors across ASEAN and the world.
Panel discussions are on the agenda focusing on ASEAN energy grid connectivity and ASEAN renewable energy and sustainability, Cambodia – Gateway to ASEAN, and Leveraging Technology for Inclusive Growth.
The topics are featured with an interactive session exploring Cambodia’s potential as a strategic gateway to the ASEAN market, focusing on investment opportunities, business environment, and government initiatives to support foreign investment.
They also aimed to hear from experts discussing the role of technology in promoting inclusive economic growth in ASEAN, focusing on digital inclusion, e-commerce, and fintech solutions.
Various topics will be discussed, including an analysis of the economic challenges and opportunities in Cambodia, to enable a favourable business environment for growth and foster economic integration within the region and beyond, Heng said.
“The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce initiates to host the summit annually with aims to promote investment potential to foreign investors and attract them to come to Cambodia,” Heng told Khmer Times on Sunday.
Cambodia attracted fixed-asset investment of $4.92 billion in 2023, up 22 percent from $4.03 billion a year earlier, the Council for the Development of Cambodia reported.
The top three foreign investors in the Kingdom last year were from China, Singapore and Malaysia, the CDC said, adding that investment from China accounted for 66 percent of the total investment.
CCC held in January a preparatory discussion of the summit, focusing on collecting inputs and cooperation from all stakeholders, especially the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and the International Trade Association, for the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit to be successful and promote investment in Cambodia, which is the core hub of ASEAN. khmertimeskh
