The ‘Cambodia Malaysia China High-Tech Park’ spanning over an area of up to 100 hectares, with a potential expansion of up to 2,000 hectares is to be built at an estimated cost of $300 million in Kandal province.
IQI Global and Cambodia’s Premium Housing Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to the effect during the Digital Government Forum in Phnom Penh this month in the presence of Malaysia’s Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo.
In a March 14 statement by IQI’s strategic partner, Edgeprop, it was confirmed that the initial phase of the high-tech park, known as the ‘Cambodia Malaysia China High-Tech Park’, will include a gross development value of $300 million and span an area of up to 100 hectares, with a potential expansion up to 2,000 hectares once underway.
Daniel Ho, IQI Global co-founder and group managing director, said that the park will be strategically located in Kandal province, which closely neighbours the capital city limits and key business amenities.
“This will be a world-class development just 10 kilometres from the Phnom Penh central business district (CBD) and served by excellent infrastructure, including two expressways,” he said.
Ho outlined the partnership’s goals to establish a sustainable high-tech ecosystem within the park, leveraging existing demand from manufacturers and fostering growth within the broader ASEAN market.
In addition to creating a conducive environment for multinational companies, IQI plans to establish a vocational educational hub within the park to equip Cambodian workers with modern skills, he noted.
The park will also offer integrated amenities to enhance employee satisfaction and efficiency, including dining options, recreational facilities and essential services.
Ho confirmed that as per the intentions of the MoU, the project should be transformed into a thriving industrial hub within five years.
The Cambodia Malaysia China High-Tech Park is to be developed by local partner, Premium Housing Group.
Chandy Mann, founder of Premium Housing Group, said his company is committed to excellence in delivering the project on schedule and within budget.
Chandy noted that the firm will collaborate with renowned engineers and architects to ensure outstanding facilities and ensure the project’s compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
Meanwhile, as a core marketing partner, IQI will attract manufacturing tenants through its platforms, facilitating cross-border investment and development for corporate customers, particularly from Malaysia, China, and other global players.
