Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of Council for the Department of Cambodia (CDC), received a courtesy call on June 4 from Patrick Murphy, Executive Vice President of Rice and Grains/Global Sourcing at Otis McAllister, Inc., and a delegation from the Rice Federation of Cambodia.
During the courtesy call on the occasion, the meeting exchanged views on the current situation and competition for Cambodian rice exports to the United States market.
Seeing the potential of the Cambodian rice sector, Murphy will continue to participate in bringing Cambodian rice and other products according to the actual situation of demand to the US market, as in the case of Cambodian fragrant rice, which he has already exported.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked Murphy and the Cambodian Rice Federation for bringing Cambodian rice products to international markets, including the United States.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that Patrick Murphy examine the possibility of exporting other agricultural and agro-industrial products, including pepper, cashew nuts, and bananas, to the United States.
