Singapore Business Expo 2024 kicks off in Phnom Penh

The very first Singapore Business Expo 2024 in the Kingdom came to life in Olympia Mall in Phnom Penh on Friday. Showcasing over 40 celebrated businesses, the two-day event also marked the first anniversary of the Singapore Business Investment Forum (SBIF).

The SBIF was presided over by Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

Under the theme of Celebrate Business and Culture, the grand ceremony featured cultural dance performances, an official launch ceremony of the expo, speeches by the chief guest and the SBIF president, in addition to a sea of stalls showcasing a variety of businesses.

“As Singapore celebrates 59 years of independence, I would like to extend my congratulations on this important occasion,” Chea said, adding that Singapore’s progress is truly inspiring.

He pointed out that Cambodia was among the first in the world to recognise the independence of Singapore. He also said that the two nations have cultivated a strong bond over the past decades.

In his opening address, Albert Tan, President of SBIF, called for new members to join the growing community of SBIF. He said, “The future is bright for SBIF, and I am confident that we will achieve even greater heights.”

The expo has an exhausting array of offerings from property dealers, including the most recent real estate deals and the best price offerings for everyday household items, including imported food and beverages. They even feature aromatherapy, traditional Chinese medicine, and more specialised products like logistics solutions for freight and cargo.

Celebrated actress Patricia Mok made a special appearance at the event, rousing laughter from the audience with her amusing anecdotes about her Cambodian experience. She also performed a lively song.
