A giant clock erected in Kampot to attract tourists

The Governor of Kampot province Mao Thonin, presided over the installation ceremony on Thursday for a Khmer-style 35-metre-tall clock with a 9.7-metre-diameter face to attract more national and international tourists to visit Kampot.

The ceremony was held at Ta Ang village, Troeuy Koh commune, Kampot city, Kampot province.

Under the leadership of Thonin, the provincial authorities are focusing on developing tourism, by improving the infrastructure of roads, decorating public places with coloured lights, creating new entertainment venues, and erecting statues like the seahorse along the river, to create focal points for tourists.

The provincial governor said that under the wise leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, who set guidelines for all tourist destinations to expand their potential to increase the number of visitations by national and international tourists through improved tourism services.
