More than 3,500 packages of aid for Gaza arrive in Israel via Cyprus

A shipment of 3,577 packages of humanitarian aid from Cyprus has arrived at Israel’s Ashdod port via the maritime corridor, according to The Times of Israel.

The aid was transported by sea through the corridor to the Gaza Strip, as confirmed by COGAT, the Israeli agency overseeing the coordination of humanitarian deliveries to the region.

Since the corridor opened in March, it is estimated that more than 10,700 packages of food, water and medicine have been sent to Gaza via Cyprus.

Gaza, densely populated and impoverished, faces shortages of essential supplies such as food, medicine, and clean water. The flow of aid is controlled by the Israeli army which has limited entry points, leaving many without basic necessities.
