Cambodia has introduced a new online platform, Cambodia e-arrival, aimed at simplifying the arrival process for international travellers. This innovative system is expected to bolster tourism, attract investors and enhance security in the digital age, tourism insiders said.

The Cambodia e-Arrival is a new system designed to make the process easier for arrival to the Kingdom of Cambodia. It replaces the paper Immigration Form, Health Form and Customs Declaration by providing a single portal.

The Cambodia e-Arrival system was launched on September 1 to make a significant contribution to attracting tourists, investors and strengthening security in the digital context.

The Cambodia e-arrival system allows visitors to complete their immigration formalities, including visa applications and health declarations, prior to their departure. By digitizing these procedures, the government aims to reduce wait time at the airport and improve the overall travel experience.

Tourism experts have hailed the launch of Cambodia e-arrival as a significant step forward.

“This system aligns with the global trend of digitalization in the travel industry,” said Chhay Sivlin, President of the Cambodia Agent Tourism Association.

“It will make Cambodia more accessible and attractive to tourists, particularly those who value convenience and efficiency,” she said.

The Ministry of Tourism has expressed optimism about the potential benefits of Cambodia e-arrival. According to Top Sopheak, Secretary of State and spokesman at the Ministry of Tourism, the system plays an important role in streamlining the entry process.

“The streamlined entry processes make it convenient and faster for passengers in Cambodia, including tourists, making it easy to electronically process procedures in just one time,” Sopheak said.

Completing the e-Arrival Card is a free process (except for e-visa on arrival fees). Once completed, a QR code is generated for presentation to immigration officials upon arrival in Cambodia either printed or displayed electronically.

Cambodia’s three international airports handled a combined 3.53 million air travellers during the first seven months of this year up 20 percent compared to the same period last year, according to a State Secretariat of Civil Aviation’s report.

The Cambodia e-Arrival system has been launched at three major international airports, including Phnom Penh International Airport (PHN), Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) and Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS).

The system is also planned to be implemented at the international border after its official launch at the international airports.
