Tina urges Sela Pepper to help farmers in processing, exports

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina, encouraged Sela Pepper Co Ltd to develop itself and continuously improve quality to help farmers process and export.

The Minister made his remark this morningwhen he received a courtesy call from the delegation of Sela Pepper Company at the Ministry.

The Minister introduced the government’s priority policy programme in the agricultural sector, which focusses on maintaining the balance of agricultural prices and building modern agricultural communities that can help solve the challenges of farmers.

In addition, Tina encouraged the company to further develop by focussing on high quality and standards, helping farmers in the processing and export to the market, making the price chain better, and focussing on quality rather than on quantity.

According to Tina, the company can consider cooperating with the modern farming community, which can produce according to the needs of the company, with good quality and resources for efficient production investment to share profits together.

“The agricultural sector needs the participation of the private sector and companies to promote contract farming and high-quality, high-value agricultural products,” he said.

For low-interest loans, the Minister advised the company to cooperate with the Credit Guarantee Corporation of Cambodia (CGCC) and work with relevant banks to provide loans through careful consideration and evaluation, and the ability to repay.
