Cambodia, US to strengthen bilateral relations, cooperation through trade and investment activities

Cambodia and the United States have expressed their commitment to reinforce bilateral relations and cooperation through trade and investment activities, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

The commitment was made during a bilateral meeting in Washington DC recently between Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the CDC, and Daleep Singh, US Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics, to discuss and exchange views about investment in Cambodia.

Sun Chanthol also briefed the US side about fruitful bilateral cooperation between both countries and highlighted Cambodia’s investment opportunities and potential by encouraging more American companies to invest in the Kingdom.

Daleep Singh highly valued the Government of Cambodia’s endeavours in national economic development.

In the same afternoon, Sun Chanthol also met with Scott Nathan, CEO of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

The CDC first vice president updated Nathan on Cambodia’s progress in some priority sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, health and people’s well-being.

For his part, Nathan was highly optimistic about increasing DFC’s activities in Cambodia, especially in the Kingdom’s priority fields. AKP
