The Paphos Regional Tourism Board (Etap) on Wednesday announced that up to €25,000 in funding is available for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The funding is being made available in the context of the ‘Smarties for SMEs’ grant scheme.
The scheme seeks to enhance innovation, resilience, and sustainability in the tourism sector.
The announcement emphasised that 15 businesses are expected to benefit from a total of €375,000 through a selection process to fund actions towards the green and digital transitions.
The board clarified that the grant offers 100 per cent funding of up to €25,000 per eligible business.
Etap also invited the public to attend an information session on Thursday, October 31, at 18:00 at its offices, with the registration deadline set for October 28.
When first announced in April of this year, the board explained that “this initiative focuses on equipping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism industry with the tools necessary for both green and digital transitions, aimed at fostering innovation, resilience, and sustainability”.
The project, which includes eight European partners from countries such as Italy, Portugal, and Cyprus, allocates 60 per cent of its €3 million budget directly to local SMEs.
More information and registration are available through the board’s website.
