Phnom Penh, October 25, 2024 —
The first-ever Cambodia-Korea Public-Private Sector Dialogue was held to strengthen and promote bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, and investment of both countries to a new height.
Held at the headquarters of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in Phnom Penh on Oct. 24, the Dialogue was co-chaired by H.E. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the CDC, and H.E. Park Jung Wook, Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Cambodia, with the participation of some 20 government ministries and institutions, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korean Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (KoCham) and many other representatives of the private sector.
The Cambodia-Korea Public-Private Sector Dialogue, initiated by Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet and ROK’s President H.E. Yoon Suk Yeol during their meeting in ROK in May this year, is aimed to improve economic ties and investment environment, and build trust among Korean business community in order to attract more investment to Cambodia.
H.E. SUN Chanthol said the Cambodia-Korea Public-Private Sector Dialogue reflected the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)’s attention to concerns and challenges of Korean investors investing in the Kingdom.
He also updated the meeting about Cambodia’s investment tendency, investment flow situation and the progress of the CDC’s Investment Project Management (cdcIPM), a technological system that allows all investors to apply their investment applications online in an easier and time-saving manner.
For his part, H.E. Park Jung Wook expressed his pleasure to take part in organising the Dialogue to review and discuss Cambodia’s investment climate, and further attract more Korean investors to come and invest in Cambodia.
