Tourism revenue in Cyprus rose 6.0 per cent in September 2024 compared to the same month last year, whilst the first nine months of the year saw a 4.9 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the Statistical Service’s Traveller Survey, tourism revenue reached €454.1 million in September 2024, up from €428.4 million in September 2023.
For the January-September 2024 period, tourism revenue reached €2,575.9 million, compared to €2,456.1 million in the corresponding period of 2023.
The per capita expenditure by tourists in September 2024 was €891.29, showing a 1.4 per cent increase from €879.13 in September 2023, the Statistical Service reported.
British tourists, who represented the largest market share at 35.5 per cent of total visitors in September 2024, spent an average of €112.35 per day.
Israeli tourists, comprising the second-largest market at 10.7 per cent, spent an average of €150.63 daily, whilst Polish tourists, the third-largest market at 8.3 per cent, spent €88.96 per day.
