The Limassol Municipality will pedestrianise Anexartisias Street, the city centre’s main commercial thoroughfare, for three consecutive Sundays during the Christmas and New Year period.
In a statement, the municipality said that with Cyprus Police Chief’s approval and in accordance with Limassol Municipal Regulations 2006 regarding traffic management, Anexartisias Street will be closed to vehicles on December 8, 15, and 22, from 11:00 to 19:30.
The pedestrian zone will extend from the controlled intersection of Anexartisias Street with Gladstone Street to its junction with Christodoulou Hadjipavlou Street.
The municipality said appropriate measures will be in place to ensure emergency services, including police, fire brigade and ambulances, can access the temporarily closed road network if needed.
Violators will face penalties, the statement concluded.
