US company Stabil Nutrition LLC and local company Amru Rice (Cambodia) have jointly invested in building a rice bran processing plant to export to the US market.
The joint investment plan was announced during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), with Song Saran, President of Amru Rice (Cambodia), and Michael A. Tarrasch, President of Stabil Nutrition LLC, at the CDC’s office on December 9.
According to the CDC, Amru Rice and Stabil Nutrition LLC signed a memorandum of understanding in September 2024 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister during the US investment promotion and attraction visit in September 2024.
“The visit of a private US company to Cambodia on this occasion marks a significant new step in the production and processing of Cambodia’s organic bran products to meet quality standards, specifications, and regulations for import into the US market,” according to the CDC.
Chanthol spoke about the investment facilitation of the CDC and the vision of the Royal Government of Cambodia to support businesses through incentives and tax exemptions for investment. He encouraged the two companies to be successful in their investment in processing and exporting rice bran from Cambodia.
