The National Committee for Coastal Management and Development of Cambodia, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLUPC), and the National Coastal Area Working Group of Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep Provinces continue efforts to enhance the 2,700-meter beach in Kep Province and promote the quality of Prek Treng Beach in Preah Sihanouk Province.
The 2,700-meter beach beautification project, named Techo Santepheap Kep Beach, is a high-level public beach resort development initiative located in Prey Thom Commune, Kep City, according to MLUPC’s press release on Sunday.
This project aims to transform the beach into a premier recreational destination that meets the expectations of both national and international tourists visiting Cambodia’s coastline.
Meanwhile, Prek Treng Beach in Preah Sihanouk Province, located in Sangkat 1, is set to become another prominent tourist attraction in the coastal region. This development is expected to draw both domestic and international visitors, further enhancing the reputation of Cambodia’s coastal areas.
Upon completion, these two beaches will serve as key tourist destinations, creating numerous job opportunities for local residents and boosting their incomes. This initiative will not only improve the livelihoods of the local community but also contribute to the broader economic development of the region.
The development of Techo Santepheap Kep Beach and Prek Treng Beach represents the first public-private partnership project focused on enhancing public beach resorts in Cambodia.
