CDC, Australian Embassy discuss ways to attract investment

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and the Australian Embassy in Cambodia held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of organizing a mission to promote and attract investment from Australia.

The meeting was attended by Suon Sophal, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia Investment Board of the CDC, and Carolyn Bagster, First Secretary and Head of the Trade and Investment Office at the Australian Embassy in Cambodia.

The mission would involve leaders from the CDC, representatives from relevant ministries and institutions, and members of the private sector. The meeting resulted in fruitful discussions regarding the organization and execution of this important mission.

Additionally, participants exchanged views on best practices and strategies for adapting to the current trends and needs of the Australian business community.

Before concluding, the meeting expressed optimism that the mission would lead to tangible achievements for both countries, coinciding with the 73rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Australia.

It is also important to note that the mission to promote and attract investment is part of a marketing campaign launched by Prime Minister Hun Manet, aimed at enhancing Cambodia’s prestige and raising awareness of its potential and investment climate on both the regional and international stages.
