Apsara National Authority is expanding new tourism plans to extend the stay of visitors to the Angkor region

The Apsara National Authority is implementing new tourism projects to extend the stay of visitors to the Angkor region for longer.
An official from the Department of Tourism and Culture Development said that the Apsara National Authority has a series of new tourism projects to attract and extend the stay of visitors to the Angkor region for longer.

Mr. Seng Sotheara, Director of the Department of Tourism and Culture Development of the Apsara National Authority, said that the Apsara National Authority is implementing a master plan that is in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s strategy and vision to develop Siem Reap province’s tourism sector from 2021-2035 to achieve the goals.

He said that in order to achieve the plans and objectives set by the Royal Government and to attract tourists who visit the Angkor region to stay longer, the Apsara National Authority is studying new tourism products on cycling paths in addition to existing bicycle paths.

The study of additional new cycling routes will help tourists have more options to cycle to distant areas, such as Phnom Bok Temple and Lak Neang Temple, and will also connect this trip to the lives of residents living in Runta Ek Sangkat, Runta Ek Techo Sen City.

In addition, the Apsara National Authority is also preparing new sightseeing tours, such as in Phnom Bok, preparing a cycling route to visit the temple, Trapeang Chambok Temple, etc. This project is currently being implemented.

Mr. Seng Sotheara stated that in the recent tourism expansion project, the Apsara National Authority is also preparing to organize the tourist shops and strengthen the tourism infrastructure in the temple, such as placing signs indicating directions and other additional information so that tourists visiting the temple can clearly understand, even if there is no tour guide to guide them, they can still understand and explore new stories on their own. Fresh News
