AstroBank Public Company Limited on Thursday announced the appointment of Charis Kynigou as an executive bember of its board of directors, effective from March 31, 2025.
The bank noted that the appointment follows approval by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).
According to the announcement, Kynigou has been with AstroBank since February 2015 and currently serves as the head of private banking, treasury and ESG division.
The bank said that “she brings extensive experience in banking and financial management, having worked in various leadership roles in major financial institutions before joining AstroBank”.
Between 2011 and 2015, she was the head of the Greek desk at BNP Paribas Wealth Management (Suisse) SA in Switzerland.
Prior to that, she held the position of senior relationship manager in private banking at Piraeus Bank SA in Greece from 2007 to 2011.
From 2006 to 2007, she worked as a relationship manager in private banking at Citibank International Plc in Greece.
Earlier in her career, from 2002 to 2006, she was an account manager at Telerate Hellas SA.
In addition to her aforementioned banking experience, Kynigou served as a board member of the Cyprus Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2024.
Her academic background includes a degree in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASSOE) and a Master of Science in Financial Economics from Cardiff Business School, University of Wales.
Finally, AstroBank confirmed that the necessary declaration under section 135(2) of the Cyprus Securities and Stock Exchange Laws has been made regarding Kynigou’s appointment.
