Bank of Cyprus revamps branch network — introduces four new branch types

The Bank of Cyprus on Friday announced that it has introduced a new operational model for its branch network.

According to the bank, this aims to enhance customer service through a combination of modernisation, efficiency, and personalised support.

The updated structure includes four distinct types of branches designed to cater to different banking needs.

Under the new model, standard branches will continue to provide the full range of banking services, including cashier transactions, general customer support, and financing.

These branches, the bank said, will be located in central urban areas and rural regions “to ensure comprehensive service coverage”.

The bank has also established dedicated Lending Units, which will focus on financial services such as loans, credit cards, and account management.

“These units will not handle cash transactions but will offer specialised support to individuals and small businesses, aiming for faster service and a more tailored approach,” the bank explained.

For customers who require only transactional services, the bank has introduced Transactions Branches, which will deal exclusively with deposits, withdrawals, money transfers, foreign exchange, and account management.

“These branches will have additional staff to ensure quicker service and minimise waiting times for everyday banking needs,” the announcement added.

Additionally, the bank stated that it is expanding its network of Digital Branches and ATMs to offer self-service banking options.

“These machines, available seven days a week until 10 p.m., will allow customers to carry out banking transactions quickly and conveniently,” said the bank.

“The locations of the new branches have been strategically selected to improve accessibility,” it added.

It also mentioned that Lending Units and Transactions Branches are “positioned close to each other to facilitate seamless customer service”.

As part of this transformation, the Bank of Cyprus has also renovated four key branches in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos.

These upgraded branches, the bank pointed out, feature modern designs, enhanced comfort, and advanced technology.

The renovations include brighter, contemporary spaces aimed at improving customer experience, self-service areas for quick transactions, and private meeting rooms for personalised consultations.

“We place great emphasis on the quality and speed of our customer service,” said Theodosios Theodosiou, Director of Retail Banking at the Bank of Cyprus.

“Through the modernisation of our operational model, we aim to provide an upgraded customer experience with direct and targeted solutions tailored to our clients’ needs, offering more service channels, flexibility, and specialisation,” he added.

The newly renovated branches are located at:

  • Nicosia: 39 Archbishop Makarios Avenue
  • Limassol: 121-123 Archbishop Makarios Avenue
  • Larnaca: Corner of Konstantinos Palaiologos and Tinos Streets
  • Paphos: Corner of Evagoras Pallikarides and Tselepou Streets
