Tourist arrivals in Cyprus reached 3.73 million visitors in the first ten months of 2024, reflecting a 4.6 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
This also represents a modest 0.81 per cent rise compared to the record-breaking year of 2019, according to a report released on Monday by the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat).
October 2024 alone recorded 459,106 arrivals, setting an all-time high for this month.
This was the second record-breaking month of the year, following a slight increase in August compared to the same month in 2019.
Arrivals in October 2024 saw a 7.7 per cent increase compared to October 2023 and a 5.2 per cent rise compared to the same month in 2019.
The United Kingdom remained the top source of tourists, accounting for 36.3 per cent of October arrivals (166,588 visitors).
Other significant contributors included Poland, accounting for 8.1 per cent (37,010), and Germany with 7.6 per cent (34,822).
Israel followed with 5.2 per cent (24,088), while Sweden contributed 4.1 per cent (18,713).
For the January to October period, total tourist arrivals reached 3,727,196 visitors, compared to 3,562,417 during the same period in 2023.
