Billions spent on 3 major infrastructure projects in Cambodia

The Royal Government in recent years has spent billions of US dollars for the development of three major infrastructure projects with an estimated budget of US $ 5.3 billion.

The three projects are:

1. Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway Development Project:

This project is Cambodia’s second expressway project after the first Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway project.

The Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway is worth about $ 1.63 billion.

It is a historical project of Cambodia because Cambodia does not yet have an expressway that can connect to the international border area.

The Royal Government opened the construction site about a year ago.

2. Techo International Airport Project:

This large construction is also considered as a historical project because Cambodia does not yet have an airport with such a large standard and can accommodate large aircraft.

The airport is expected to cost about $ 2 billion, with construction currently costing more than $ 1.1 billion.

According to the plan, the first phase of Techo International Airport will be launched in mid-2025.

3. Funan Techo Project:

The Funan Techo Project is scheduled to start on August 5 under the presidency of Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.

This project is considered as a historical project on waterways.

It is a new waterway project of Cambodia connecting fresh water to the sea of Cambodia.

When this project is completed, Cambodia expects to be independent in terms of waterways, with all exports-imports no longer dependent on neighboring countries’ waterways.

It is also a means of transportation by water, which can attract low-level international tourists to another level.

The project is expected to cost about $ 1.7 billion.

Through three major infrastructure development projects, it can help make Cambodia a more attractive country for investment and tourism, especially facilitating the logistics sector in Cambodia. AKP
