Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that in the first four months of 2024, the Royal Government of Cambodia approved 128 new investment and expansion projects with a total investment of more than $2.5 billion, which will create more than 130,000 jobs.
The premier spoke on Thursday (May 9) during an inauguration of the Cambodia Confederation of Investors Association (CCIA) at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The premier added that these investment projects are the result of collaboration between the Royal Government and the private sector to attract investors to Cambodia collectively.
According to Hun Manet, he had just signed the agreement on 14 investment projects valued at USD 480 million earlier today.
The premier underlined, “This is what we have worked together to promote Cambodia, to foster trust among investors—both established and new. It stands as a tangible result achieved by the Royal Government for the people in the past eight months.”
On the occasion, Dr. Hun Manet added that Cambodia’s investment strategy employs a dual approach: retaining existing investments while cultivating new ones. Alongside efforts to attract fresh investments into Cambodia, the Royal Government has taken proactive measures to support and enhance the capabilities of current investments, ensuring their continued success and expansion.
