Cambodia makes $311 mln from bicycle export in H1

Cambodia exported bicycles worth $311 million to foreign markets in the first half of 2025, representing a 51.7 per cent year-on-year increase from $205 million, according to a Ministry of Commerce report released on Saturday.

Ministry of Commerce Secretary of State and spokesperson Penn Sovicheat said the made-in-Cambodia bicycles had been exported mainly to the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.

“Bicycles have become one of our major manufacturing products for exporting to international markets following garments, shoes, travel goods, car tires, and potential agricultural commodities such as rice, rubber, cashew nuts, yellow bananas, mangoes, and longans,” he told Xinhua.

Currently, there are five bicycle factories in the Southeast Asian country, all of which are located in special economic zones in southeastern Svay Rieng Province’s Bavet City, which shares a border with Vietnam. Xinhua
