A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Hun Sen, the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), will pay an official visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on 6-7 February 2025.
The two-day visit has been arranged at the invitation of Saysomphone Phomvihane, President of the Lao National Assembly, as stated in a press release from the Senate General Secretariat received by AKP this evening.
The delegation will comprise Sar Kheng, Tea Banh, and Men Sam An, members of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and Vice Presidents of the CPP, as well as Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Chairman of the CPP’s Foreign Relations Committee, along with members of the Senate and National Assembly and key leaders of the Cambodian legislative body and the CPP.
According to the press release, during his stay in the Lao PDR, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will hold a bilateral meeting with Saysomphone Phomvihane, engage in working discussions with Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, and co-chair the 15th CPP-LPRP Summit with Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao PDR and General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP).
“The visit of Samdech Hun Sen, as President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the CPP, to the Lao PDR will provide new momentum in strengthening and promoting the comprehensive and long-term strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao PDR,” the press release emphasised.
