In January 2025, Cambodia’s trade volume with the international market surpassed $5 billion, representing a 24.6 per cent increase compared to January 2024, when it exceeded $4 billion, according to a report from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, accessed by Fresh News on 15 February.
The report indicated that in January 2025, Cambodia’s exports totalled more than $2.3 billion, reflecting a 17.3 per cent increase. Meanwhile, imports reached $2.7 billion, up by 31.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
China remains Cambodia’s largest trading partner, with a trade volume of approximately $1.5 billion. Cambodia exported goods worth over $100 million to China, an increase of 40.5 per cent, while imports from China to Cambodia exceeded $1.4 billion, reflecting a 34.7 per cent rise.
The United States ranks as Cambodia’s second-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade approaching $900 million—an increase of 38.6 per cent. Cambodia’s exports to the US surpassed $868 million, while imports from the US to Cambodia totalled over $23 million.
According to the report, Cambodia’s trade with major partners such as Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Canada, Spain, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom also exhibited significant growth.
