PHNOM PENH, June 7, 2024 – Mr. Kelvin K. Mo, head of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce in Montreal, led a Canadian delegation to Phnom Penh to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia. The group was hosted by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) on June 5.
Nut Unvoanra, Deputy Secretary General of the CDC’s Cambodian Investment Board, welcomed the visitors and provided a comprehensive overview of Cambodia’s investment climate. He discussed the nation’s ongoing reforms aimed at creating a favourable investment environment, maintaining macroeconomic stability, and enhancing the flow of investments.
He emphasized that Cambodia has established robust legal and policy frameworks along with attractive investment incentives to streamline business operations. Additionally, significant investments are being made in human resources and infrastructure development to boost the country’s competitive edge in the global market.
The Canadian delegates expressed appreciation for the insights shared and committed to promoting these opportunities within Canada to bolster Canadian investments in Cambodia. Their investment interests span sectors such as agriculture and processing, tourism, healthcare, real estate, services, and industry.
