CCC invites 200 entrepreneurs to join biz mission in Vietnam

Synopsis: The ‘Vietnam-Cambodia Business Networking Conference 2025’ will help promote bilateral trade and investment between the two neighbouring countries.

Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC), called on 200 entrepreneurs and business leaders to take part in the ‘Vietnam-Cambodia Business Networking Conference 2025’ scheduled to be held in Ho Chi Minh city from July 14-16.

This three-day mission trip, announced during the ‘Business & Innovation Forum 2025’ in Phnom Penh last week, aimed at expanding market accessibility for Cambodia’s agricultural products amid the ongoing border tension with Thailand.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Meng highlighted the potential economic fallout from ongoing tensions between Cambodia and Thailand, particularly in border provinces.

The CCC President warned that disruptions during the corn harvest season could severely affect farmers, traders and associated supply chain operations.

He urged the private sector to proactively collaborate in transforming current challenges into long-term business opportunities by embracing innovation, diversifying operations, and adopting flexible strategies to respond effectively to regional uncertainties and global economic shifts.

During his remarks, Meng said, “This month, I plan to lead a business delegation to Ho Chi Minh to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations as well as expanding market access.”

He invited oknhas, company leaders, and entrepreneurs to register their interest with the CCC, noting that Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment had reached out to arrange the visit.

He also asked relevant CCC departments to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) to organise the trip, following a request by Leng Rithy, President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Association (VCBA), which will accommodate up to 200 participants.

During the event, Mong Reththy, Founder and Chairman of Mong Reththy Group (MRG), stressed the importance of increasing tourism to sustain local businesses in Siem Reap amid border tensions with Thailand, especially around the Angkor Wat temple area—rather than diverting attention to other sectors such as agriculture.

Reththy said, “Recently, the CCC president of the Siem Reap department requested my advice on promoting agriculture to drive local economic growth. I reminded him that this province holds enormous potential across various sectors, and many residents around Angkor Wat are already financially stable.”

“Apart from the ancient temples passed down by our ancestors, the province boasts major infrastructure such as sewerage and drainage systems, asphalt roads, and reliable electricity and water supply,” he said.

According to a CCC press release, the business mission to Vietnam will take place from July 14-16 to promote bilateral trade and investment between the two neighbouring countries, specifically seeking to expand market access for Cambodian products.

The Vietnam-Cambodia Business Networking Conference 2025 will focus on three key areas of cooperation. First, it will explore the import-export potential and available incentives between Cambodia and Vietnam, deepening the economic exchanges.

Second, it will promote business partnerships by creating valuable networking opportunities and encouraging collaboration between firms from both countries.

Third, dedicated business meetings will be held to identify practical ways to strengthen cooperation and supply chains, ultimately fostering mutual benefits for Cambodian and Vietnamese enterprises.
