President Nikos Christodoulides has announced the establishment of the Business Activity Service Centre, a centralised hub designed to assist both Cypriot and foreign entrepreneurs.
“The philosophy behind our decision is to create a central point of contact for Cypriot and foreign investors who wish to operate or expand their activity in our country, so that they can receive direct information and personalised guidance, utilising more effectively the accumulated experience and expertise of our technocrats and improving the productivity of our services, for the benefit of the business community and the economy at large,” he said.
He was speaking at the AGM of the Cyprus Property Developers Association on 12 December.
This centre will consolidate the Strategic Developments Sector of the Ministry of Interior and the Business Facilitation Unit of the Ministry of Commerce, Christodoulides said.
As the President noted, its primary objective is to provide immediate information and personalised guidance to investors seeking to operate or expand in Cyprus, thereby enhancing service productivity and benefiting the broader economy.
During his addresss, the President also emphasised the significant contributions of the construction sector to Cyprus’s economic development, highlighting its role as a “locomotive of the economy.”
Christodoulides acknowledged the challenges faced by the industry in recent years and reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the business environment to attract quality investments and boost competitiveness.
This initiative for the Business Activity Service Centre aligns with the government’s broader strategy to streamline investor services and support the real estate industry, recognising its substantial impact on the country’s economic growth, he said.
