Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides is leading a high-level delegation to the United States on Wednesday, aiming to attract investment in shipping, technology and energy. The visit includes stops in New York, Texas, and San Francisco.
The president is accompanied by key government officials, including Energy Minister George Papanastasiou, Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanoli and Deputy Minister for Research Nicodemos Damianou. Business leaders from Cyprus will also join the mission.
A major investment conference is set to take place in New York on April 4. President Christodoulides will deliver a keynote speech alongside other senior Cypriot officials.
Central bank governor Christodoulos Patsalides is also scheduled to address the event, providing insights into Cyprus’ economic prospects. The conference will bring together banking, shipping and energy executives and representatives from international technology firms.
Beyond New York, the Cypriot delegation will travel to Texas and San Francisco for further talks with investors. The president has highlighted the extensive groundwork that has gone into this visit, describing it as a strategic opportunity to promote Cyprus as a prime investment destination.
“There are significant prospects in shipping, technology, and energy,” Christodoulides stated.
“A well-structured programme has been prepared, and we hope that these meetings will yield positive results.”
Following the US trip, the president will visit London on May 21 with members of his cabinet. The objective will be to present incentives, including tax benefits, to encourage successful Cypriots abroad to return and invest in their home country.
This initiative forms part of Cyprus’ broader economic strategy to strengthen its position as a regional business hub and attract high-value investments from global markets.
