The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, led the Cypriot delegation at the IFTM 2024 tourism exhibition in Paris.
During his visit, he met with key industry executives and promoted Cyprus as a sustainable tourism destination.
Koumis expressed optimism about surpassing last year’s record of 80,000 French visitors to Cyprus. He highlighted the growing French interest in the island, driven by its reputation as a sun-and-sea destination and the increasing focus on sustainable tourism practices.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of analysing the profile of French visitors and tailoring tourism offerings to their preferences. He noted that French tourists are increasingly concerned about environmental issues and green development, making sustainable practices a crucial factor in their destination choices.
Koumis concluded that the success of Cyprus’ tourism industry depends on adopting sustainable practices and meeting the evolving expectations of visitors.
