Cyprus airports unaffected by Middle East tensions, operator says

Cyprus airports are operating normally despite escalating tensions in the Middle East, according to Hermes Airports.

The company reported no flight cancellations or schedule changes on Thursday.

Maria Kouroupi, Director of Aviation Development and Communication, emphasised the importance of maintaining uninterrupted flight schedules during the peak summer season.

“At the moment, we do not see any flight cancellations or changes to the schedule. We hope that the situation will not escalate and will normalise, and certainly, it will not affect us because we are in the middle of the summer season, which is a very critical period,” she said.

While two Lufthansa flights from Frankfurt and Munich made stops in Larnaca for crew changes, only one continued to Tel Aviv as planned. The other flight returned to Munich due to operational reasons.

Hermes Airports is closely monitoring the situation but has not reported any disruptions to air travel through Cyprus at this time.
