Cyprus Airways and Air India sign new interline agreement

Deal boosts Cyprus–India connectivity

Cyprus Airways and Air India on Tuesday announced the signing of a new interline agreement, aiming to enhance connectivity and travel options for passengers of both airlines.

According to the announcement, the cooperation allows travellers to book a single ticket, benefit from a unified baggage policy, and enjoy a seamless transfer experience.

This strategic agreement will significantly expand travel opportunities through a number of key hubs, offering access to an even broader network across Europe and India.

These include Larnaca International Airport (LCA), Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi (DEL), Dubai International Airport (DXB), Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris (CDG), Tel Aviv (TLV), and Milan’s Malpensa Airport (MXP).

Through this agreement, Cyprus Airways passengers will have easy access to numerous Indian cities, including Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), Hyderabad (HYD), Chennai (MAA), and Kochi (COK), via Air India flights.

Air India passengers, in turn, will be able to connect to Cyprus Airways flights to Larnaca via Air India’s hubs in Dubai, Tel Aviv, Paris, and Milan in Europe.

“The interline partnership with Air India reflects our commitment to providing more choice and seamless connectivity for our passengers” said Cyprus Airways CEO Thanos Pascalis.

He added that “it also supports our growth strategy and further strengthens Cyprus as a hub between Europe, the Middle East and Asia”.

“Our new collaboration with Cyprus Airways strengthens our expanded global network and provides easy access for our passengers to and from Cyprus, an emerging tourist destination for Indians and a country with growing trade ties with India” said Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal.

The interline agreement is already in effect, and tickets are available for booking through the certified travel agencies of both companies.

The announcement concluded by saying that “this partnership marks an important milestone for both airlines and lays the foundation for deeper collaboration in the future, enhancing the travel experience for passengers worldwide”.
