Revenue from tourism in Cyprus for the first five months of the year is estimated at 955.8 million euros, compared to €751.2 million in the January-May period of 2024, recording an impressive increase of 27.2% year-on-year, according to data published by the Cyprus Statistical Service (CyStat) on Wednesday.
Based on the results of the latest CyStat Passengers Survey, in May revenue from tourism reached €373.3 million in Cyprus, recording an increase of 20.2% compared to the same month last year (€310.5 million).
The increase was mainly thanks to the growth in the number of arrivals, as the average expenditure per person registered an annual increase of only 5.7%, reaching €779.08 in May 2025, compared to €736.82 in May 2024.
Tourists from the United Kingdom (Cyprus’ largest tourism market with 37.4% of the total tourists in May 2025) spent €97.77 per day on average, while tourists from Israel (the second-largest market during the month in question with 9.4% of the total tourists) spent €153.11 on average. Polish visitors (the third largest market with 7.7%) spent €90.28 per day on average.
