Cambodian Ambassador to Bulgaria Chea Chanboribo Tuesday suggested establishing the Cambodia-Romania Chamber of Commerce, envisioning it as a platform to facilitate dialogue and create new investment opportunities for the mutual benefit of both countries.
The suggestion was made during a meeting between Ambassador Chanboribo and Brândușa Ioana Predescu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Bulgaria in Sofia, according to the statement of the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to the Republic of Bulgaria.
During the meeting, Ambassador Chanboribo expressed his honour to serve as Cambodia’s official representative to Romania, describing Romania as a vibrant nation with a rich cultural heritage and a strong sense of unity among its people.
On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC), he reaffirmed his commitment to advancing political, economic, cultural, and cooperative ties between Cambodia and Romania.
In the course of the discussion, Ambassador Chanboribo further expressed Cambodia’s desire to establish a Cambodia-Romania Chamber of Commerce, envisaging it as a platform to facilitate dialogue and foster new investment opportunities that would benefit both nations.
“Cambodia’s intention to promote greater awareness of its history and culture among the Romanian people, strengthening mutual understanding and connections between the two nations, remains a priority,” said Ambassador Chanboribo.
He also expressed Cambodia’s readiness to initiate and support projects aimed at deepening bilateral relations in trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, and sports.
Noting Romania’s strengths in information technology, automotive sector, and agriculture, Ambassador Chanboribo conveyed Cambodia’s interest in exploring these areas as promising fields for future collaboration.
On her part, Ambassador Brândușa agreed with Ambassador Chanboribo’s suggestions, expressing optimism that cooperation between Cambodia and Romania will benefit the peoples of both countries.
