Evercore’s Asia business interested in promoting cooperation with Cambodia in three key areas

Evercore’s Asia business has expressed its interest to boost cooperation with Cambodia in the areas of renewable energy, healthcare and tourism sectors.

The interest was revealed by visiting Keith Magnus, Chairman of Evercore’s Asia business while paying a courtesy call to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace here yesterday.

Evercore’s Asia business chairman also praised Cambodia for its development in all sectors and highly appreciated the Royal Government’s introduction of the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1 to achieve the Cambodia Vision 2050.

For his part, Hun Manet welcomed the company’s interest and highlighted Cambodia’s energy development policy, with the current use of more than 62 percent renewable energy and a set target of achieving 70 percent renewable energy use by 2030.

In addition, the Cambodian Premier also underlined the introduction of policies to support the health sector, such as strengthening and expanding health services within the country.

The Prime Minister stressed the Kingdom’s many other potential areas, including agriculture, manufacturing, finance, and banking. In this regard, he encouraged the company to continue discussions with relevant ministries and institutions and promote linkages and collaboration between the private sector abroad and in Cambodia.
