A Cambodian bodybuilding coach Amy S Ham, became the first Cambodian woman to receive a gold medal and trophy from the President of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation, Datuk Paul Chua.
The news was shared by the President of the Cambodian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (CBFF), Tek Bunvy, on Thursday.
He added that Ham was awarded the gold medal and trophy at the 56th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, which took place from August 6 to 12 in Indonesia.
Ham was among the nine women advancing in the bodybuilding sport, proving women’s capacity and involvement.
Another Cambodian bodybuilder, Khou Kheanghuy, also won a gold medal in the men’s sports physique over 180 cm at the Asian championship.
Both Ham and Kheanghuy are strongly committed to achieving their best in future competitions.
Bunvy, Ham, and Kheanghuy thanked the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports for its continued support and for providing opportunities for Cambodian athletes to compete in international sporting events. AKP
