Germany to support Cambodia’s digitalisation efforts

Germany has vowed to support Cambodia to further boost its digitalisation programmes cutting across various spectrums.

This came as Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, held a discussion yesterday with Martina Klement, Chief Digital Officer of Berlin, Germany.

Vandeth apprised Klement on Cambodia’s initiatives in implementing digitalisation across the economic and social spheres.

He said the initiative includes expanding digital connectivity, human resources training and e-Governance programmes.

The official added that the Royal Government is keen on exploring the emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence to speed up the digitalisation drive, pointing out the cooperation with the private sector in this regard.

On her part, Martina emphasised cooperation between Germany and Cambodia across all areas of digitalisation, particularly in human resources training and collaboration on research and innovation projects.

She praised Cambodia’s remarkable progress in the past and expressed willingness to exchange experiences and learn from each other’s experiences for the benefit of both parties’ digital evolution.
