He stressed the need to transition toward a more sustainable model that balances economic expansion with environmental preservation and social equity.
The government has continued to introduce and implement programs, reform mechanisms, and response measures, he said.
On enhancing competitiveness, Mr Hun Manet said, “With the goal of promoting economic diversification, increasing competitiveness, and strengthening resilience, the government is preparing to implement programs to enhance competitiveness, increase diversification, and strengthen resilience to promote economic growth in a global environment of high uncertainty.”
He also unveiled programs to prepare for graduation from the least developed country category to ensure a smooth exit and path forward to the higher-income nation by 2050.
Cambodia Outlook Conference 2025 was organized by the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) in collaboration with the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), brought together policymakers, business leaders, international partners, and experts to discuss strategies for fostering long-term economic resilience and inclusivity.
The conference also highlighted Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with international organizations and neighbouring countries.
The Premier called for sharing inputs from discussions in the conference as an important basis for the government to fill gaps in policies and measures in terms of improving, refining, and orienting policies to be more realistic and targeted, as well as strengthening implementation to be more effective and efficient.
Cambodia Vision Conference 2025 is held based on the achievements of previous Cambodia Vision Conferences and will continue to serve as a platform for constructive discussions among leaders and key stakeholders on the future development of the Kingdom, said Chea Serey, CDRI Board Chairwoman and Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia.
The main objective of this year’s conference is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of Cambodia’s current economic performance to identify key areas that need to be improved to achieve the Cambodian development vision.
The conference facilitated a dialogue among senior national and international experts to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing Cambodia to help it implement its reform program effectively in the context of uncertain circumstances that could affect the future development trajectory of Cambodia.
