How much did rent prices in Cyprus increase since 2010

Despite rising rental costs in Cyprus, the country’s increase from 2010 to the second quarter of 2024 is among the lowest in the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone.

According to Eurostat data, Cyprus experienced a rental price increase of 9.02% during this period, significantly lower than the EU-27 average of 24.83% and the Eurozone-20 average of 22.95%.

While other EU countries like Estonia (203%), Lithuania (178%), Ireland (106%), and Hungary (104%) saw much higher increases, Cyprus’s relatively moderate rise stands out.

However, the cost of residences in Cyprus has also increased, though not as dramatically as in some other countries.

While Cyprus saw no change in residence prices, countries like Estonia and Hungary experienced a tripling, and Lithuania and Latvia saw a doubling.
