Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, met here on Dec. 11 with a delegation from the Chinese Investment in Cambodia Association and 86Links Co., Ltd.
The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) pointed out that the meeting focused on enhancing Cambodia’s industrial and technological development through innovative platforms and fostering greater Chinese investment.
According to the source, the delegation presented a technology platform designed to attract investors by showcasing Cambodia’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and industrial parks. The platform, equipped with multilingual AI and interactive features like virtual maps, provides critical information on investment opportunities, laws, and industrial reports. The delegation proposed a three-step plan for implementing the platform and invited the Minister to visit China to strengthen bilateral collaboration.
Vanndy commended the initiative and highlighted the potential of such a platform to support Cambodia’s economic growth and data management needs. He tasked the MISTI technical team with evaluating the platform’s value in complementing the existing Investment Project Management (cdcIPM) system of the Council for the Development of Cambodia.
The minister reiterated the Royal Government of Cambodia’s commitment to fostering a favourable investment climate, leveraging innovative technology, and strengthening ties with China. He also encouraged the association to consider directing a portion of China’s outbound investments to Cambodia, underscoring the nation’s potential as an industrial hub. AKP
